Quirks in podcast downloading.

edited November 2006 in Everything Else
It appears that when I download podcasts some download faster than others. I'm using iTunes (7.whatever the latest one is) and podcasts from the ABC (the Australian one) go really fast. At first i thought it was size but that seems to make little difference, then I thought that it might be because it was coming from Australia so didn't have as far to travel. I soon realised this was a) dumb and b) not the case since other Australian podcasts aren't as fast. GeekNights is pretty fast when I'm under my download limit but when I go over it and get dropped back to the slower speed it takes forever.

I find this all very interesting, anyone have any ideas?

  • Wouldn't it depend on how fast the server you are downloading the podcast from is?
  • And how many people are downloading it at the same time as you?
