Core 2 Duo vs. AMD Turion

edited July 2007 in Technology
I have been looking around for a comparison between the Core 2 Duo and the AMD 64 Turion X2 and I've mostly gotten things saying one is faster and other places saying the other is faster. Can I get a recommendation on which is better for a notebook?

  • Normally I would start a rant about it depending on what you need in a notebook. Do you want battery life, do you want speed, do you want to save money, etc. However, I will not. The Intel chips are the win and the AMD is the lose. The Intel chips are faster, cooler, more stable and you'll get longer battery life. They are just plain better. AMD has some serious catching up to do. The only reason to get the AMD is if you want to save money, and you don't care about anything else as long as the laptop gets the job done.
  • Thanks for not beating around the bush.
