Simple geek jobs Vs Shelf stacking?

edited July 2007 in Everything Else
I was talking to a friend of mine recently who told me that the going rate for someone who fixes computers (In the capacity of virus removal, file recovery and telling people not to leave pens in laptops) is £30($60) an hour and as I currently work as a zombie at the local ASDA (some days it's good but its not where I want to be) which pays about £5($10) an hour starting a local computer fix-it service at half the average rate to start with would earn me £15 ($30) an hour which means I could earn my current weekly income in 1/3rd the time and would enjoy doing it slightly more.
What are peoples thoughts on this and has anyone else working low wage jobs thought of doing this?
