File Sharing Programs

Now we all know the mass and relatively anonymous ways of sharing files, but does anyone know a good way to share files with specific people (ie friends and/or family). I tried to send a file to a friend via AIM transfer the other night and was left scratching my head when it failed as I couldn't think of an alternate. Does anyone know any know any easy to setup programs to share files?

    With rapidshare, only the people you give the link to get the file.

    I've not tried it yet but isn't that exactly what pownce was set up to do? You might want to give that a shot.

    Rapidshare, megaupload, sendfile, etc. All those filesharing sites that only give the file if you have the link. Just don't post the link anywhere and only give it to your friend. Rapidshare'll delete it after a month of no downloads iirc.

    Cause bandwidth is generally expensive.
