edited May 2008 in Anime
Anyone can think of any significant ones. Really, there's one I could think of that tops a lot.

    It's really too bad they banned him from Anime Expo. Apparently he still manages to sneak in, and a friend of a friend of mine says she spotted him last year, but nothing concrete. The last time I saw him in person was AX '06.

    Viga: That's not really fandom (being official and all), but I'll bite.

    Probably NSFW

    What the fuck is that! O_O!

    Well, Warrior of the Wind did affect the fans. Meh. Kinda like the Escaflowne Fox Kids edit. Ew.

    ODIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNN!
    That's a bad moment in anime, not a bad moment in anime fandom.
  • What about all of the anime fans who went and saw it when it was released? They probably rethought their life a little bit!
  • ODIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNN!
    Have I ever acknowledged how I love that nobody can ever say or type the name without an overload of vowels?
  • I felt a disturbing shift in the fandom right around... here:

    The fact that the Digiclipse exist just makes me feel bad.
    Reminds me ofthem.
    Oh. My god. Is that.. I only read a bit of it but.. do they seriously. Honestly. TRULY. Believe they're from.. a made up series...?

    One word: corn. >=3

    Technically one word and a face.

    I like corm.
    Also, like it or hate it, you have to admit that this was a bad moment in anime fandom:

    It's still a part of anime fandom. Though now it's more net fandom, if there could be such thing.

    Also, I've found that the ANN boards, and their batshit radical stances on everything, is an epic failure in anime fandom.

    Oh yeah, not to mention Gaia.....good god.

    Gurochan. I found out about it on this very forum. What the fuck!

    Gaia = horrible
    4chan = double horrible

    ANN! Seriously! They don't even tip the scale on worst in the fandom. Most likely since they are kept in line most of the time to avoid becoming like gaia. Ew.

    Shall I give him some corn, everyone? XD

    At least 4chan has some degree of self-filtering when it comes to stupid members. Gaia is just one big spammer clusterfuck.

    I couldn't find the actual pic. But. Corn is used in a yaoi. X3
  • Anyone see the Death Note movie in theaters?

    I just went with a few of my friends tonight, and it was an awful experience. When any characters show up, L, Ryuk, Watari, whatever, the crowd went batshit insane. Fangirls screaming, clapping, and more screaming.
    Then it got to the point where they were cheering for almost every scene. Me and my friends nearly walked out, as it made the movie really hard to enjoy and concentrate on.

    Waste of $10. Not gonna see another anime or anime related feature in theatres ever again....<_<

    I had a bad experience watching the Death Note movie for a different reason: It's a terrible movie.

  • That didn't happen to me. There's was a big crowd but we all watch attentively and during the credits we we yelled random funny stuff until the bonus making of showed. Then back to quiet. I was also surprised at the ages present in the audience. They weren't just punk kids or adults escorting punks kids.

    I didn't like some of the changes myself but I didn't think it was god awful. Just kinda meh in the grand scheme of things.
  • Ok, it was better than Speed Racer.
  • I didn't see that yet and don't really plan to. Did it suck balls like I predicted? I also heard it's tough on the eyes.
  • Did it suck balls like I predicted?
    My thoughts.

    Glad I saved my money. I guess we could put this on the list too.

    The other Miyazaki.
    That man still frightens me to this day. Still, the Hello Kitty murder is the most disturbing out of all them due to how fucked up the criminal was.

  • The day cosplay became a weapon for attention whores was the day the music die :(
  • Satoshi Kon's death that rattled every fan I knew. Also, Stu Levy's existence alone is a worse moment, week, year almost. The boring America's Greatest Otaku show nailed that more than the poetry of DJ Milky.
  • Really? Nobody's posted Shit Otaku Say yet?
