The Yukon

edited June 2008 in Everything Else
I've been touring Canada with my dad while he gives business speeches, and we're now in Whitehorse, Yukon. We are going to be here without anything to do for two days without work (Friday and Saturday). Today, we got a bush pilot and flew over a glacier, but I'm looking for some other stuff to do. Anyone have some suggestions? I'm thinking of renting a canoe/kayak and paddling the Yukon river. Money really isn't so much of an issue. The only "gear" I have are hiking boots and rock climbing shoes. Also, sunset isn't until 2 A.M., so we can stay out pretty late.

I doubt that this is a great forum for advice on what to do in Whitehorse. Now if you were in Dawson, that might be another story. ;-)

Do you know how to handle a canoe or kayak? People get killed all of the time here in those things - and this is on bodies of water much more tame than the Yukon.
  • Go prospecting.
  • Go for a walk and read some Robert Service poetry.
