I would have defiantly gone to see that. Most likely without pants.

Because you will be wearing a utilikilt....

    ... with no underwear.
  • He was definitely the most comfortable of the group at the beer festival because of that. It was so hot that day.

And I had that one girl drop to her knees to check out my "belt buckle".

I'll be wearing undies. Unless someone give me good reason to take them off. ~_^ Cambridge Mass and their cursed updraft air vents taught me that lesson.

The dreaded utilikilt, tis the pride and bane of many.

So I guess I won't be able to make it this year, I already have my all weekend pass though (volunteering), think they'll let me use it next year?

    Highly doubtful.
  • Re: Kilts

Well, a Scotsman clad in kilt once left a bar one evening fair,
And one could tell by how he walked that he'd drunk more than his share.
He fumbled 'round until he could no longer keep his feet.
Then he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street.

Ring ding diddle iddle i de o,
    Ring die diddley i o.
He stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street..

About that time two young and lovely girls just happened by.
One said to the other with a twinkle in her eye.
See yon sleeping Scotsman so strong and handsome built.
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt.

Ring ding diddle iddle i de o,
    Ring die diddley i o.
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt.

They crept up on that sleeping Scotsman quiet as could be,
Lifted up his kilt about an inch so they could see.
And there behold for them to view beneath his Scottish skirt,
Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth.

Ring ding diddle iddle i de o,
    Ring die diddley i o.
Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth.

They marveled for a moment and then one said we must be gone.
Let's leave a present for our friend before we move along.
As a gift they left a blue silk ribbon tied into a bow,
Around the bonnie star the Scot's kilt did lift and show.

Ring ding diddle iddle i de o,
    Ring die diddley i o.
Around the bonnie star the Scot's kilt did lift and show.

Now the Scotsman woke to nature's call and stumbled toward the trees.
Behind the bush he lifts his kilt and gawks at what he sees.
And in a startled voice he says to what's before his eyes,
Oh! lad I don't know where you've been but I see you won first prize.

Ring ding diddle iddle i de o,
    Ring die diddley i o.
Oh! lad I don't know where you've been but I see you won first prize.
  • Updated schedule sent to print!

I'll get a copy to y'all as soon as I can now that it's complete.
  • So...waiting for that schedule, Rym.
  • It is more than likely that he already sent it and they haven't posted it on the site yet.

The impatience is due to the fact that Connecticon is in 4 days, and it'll make planning a personal schedule harder the longer the con schedule isn't available.
  • Anyone going to Connecticon have a Apple laptop-to-VGA adaptor thing? I need one for my panel and left mine at my apartment in Rochester (which I won't be anywhere near until after the con.)

You used keynote, didn't you? Good luck!

For all of our panels we always have multiple technological fall backs. You have to always assume that everything that can go wrong will go wrong. We bring multiple laptops, multiple copies of our panels in multiple formats on multiple USB sticks and laptop hard drives.

The other lesson to learn is not to use proprietary stuff, such as Keynote. Do your presentation in Google Docs, HTML, PDF, something that can work on absolutely any computer. That way even if your computer explodes, you can use someone elses, especially if you have it on a USB stick.

Also, you can always solve your problem with money. Just go to a Best Buy or Apple store and buy one. Consider the price part of the Apple tax.
  • I'm not using anything tied to OS X, in fact I'm going to be using the Windows 7 partition on my laptop. It's just that Apple laptops use that stupid proprietary mini-DVI port.

Well, then the much easier solution is to just borrow any of the hundreds of laptops that will be at the convention rather than to go find some funky adapter.
