I had this discussion with Scott, talking about the video of the Viet Cong terrorist being shot and the people in Bahrain, which is an incredibly important piece of media. It's a dicey issue. I suppose the projected intent of the poster should be taken into account, then. If someone posted pictures of people in the middle east getting shot because they thought it was cool, I may view it differently than if they did it for journalistic reasons. Okay, how do you define Child Pornography then? Pornography and the like is full of grey areas. That's why we have that manga case. I figure it like this: a video of a lion killing a zebra is fine. A video of a kitten getting killed with a hammer on singular purpose of killing a kitten with a hammer is not.
edit: I always thought snuff films were films where somebody was killed to make a movie about somebody getting killed.
I think the main consideration is this: Do the perpetrators of the act benefit from having the video seen?
