Sleights

edited April 2011 in Everything Else
A friend of mine is developing a strategy game called Sleights that came about as an alternative to standard collectible card games. To play, all you need are a chess board, 8-10 game pieces, and a standard deck of playing cards. It doesn't take long to learn, and the gameplay is fairy quick; the average game lasts somewhere between 3 and 7 minutes. You can visit the website here for Rules PDFs, as well as a WinGame version if you want to practice against a computer player. You can also watch this tutorial video to get a quick look at how the game is played.

  • This seems like it could be really fun!
  • I'd have to play it to be sure, but it seems like it is really easy to destroy the opponent's mages. Therefore, going first has a huge advantage. On top of that, it also seems like there is a strong luck factor. When there are only a few mages left on each side, it's going to be all about who gets the necessary card, or a 2, to end a stalemate of two solitary mages moving around.
