I got 17/32. I don't usually watch horror, and a couple of the 16 I guessed and then verified with google image search.

With help of my coworkers I got to 26/32

Last week's answers are here (Photo Friday: Horror movies).

This week is somewhat for a certain hockey fanatic.

Photo Friday : The NHL Jersey Shore

    image

Here’s something for you puck loving sports fans.

Name each of the 25 greatest Hockey players of all time that donned their respective jerseys in the image provided.

Bonus trivia: each of these players have one thing in common. Can you guess what that is?

You want the players? Based only on number and team? Are you kidding me? I don't know players by number.

    1) Wayne Gretzky
    2) Bobby Orr
    4) Mario Lemieux or Sidney Crosby?
    11) Mark Messier

18 or 19 is Denis Potvin the wife beater.

    I don't even know Gordie Howe's number.
    Ovetchkin isn't even on there.
Too may habs with French-Canadian names probably.

See, Jason said I shouldn't use faces because it would be too hard. Ugh. It's difficult to make things that are a happy medium between fun and both easy and challenging.

These 25 are taken from a list of The 100 Greatest NHL Players of All Time. The list is from The Hockey News and here is a list of who made the selections. I also noticed that the list was published in 1998, so it is a bit dated.

The judges involved in making the selections for this list included writers, journalists, and broadcasters (Don Cherry, John Davidson, Milt Dunnell, Stan Fischler, Dick Irvin, Brian McFarlane, Bob McKenzie, Jim Matheson, Harry Neale, Frank Orr), as well as coaches, referees, general managers, and former players (Al Arbour, Scotty Bowman, Emile Francis, Howie Meeker, Scotty Morrison, Roger Neilson, Bud Poile, Sam Pollock, Marcel Pronovost, Billy Reay, Glen Sather, Harry Sinden, Red Storey).

Also, I'm apologize, but I have no idea who is who is hockey other than 1-3, and I only know 3 because of the Drew Barrymore movie, Never Been Kissed.

I think, if anything, hockey history buffs would definitely dig this trivia. >_>

I said you shouldn't use JUST faces because all those Russians look alike. Numbers are balls hard. BALLS hard.

    Also, vive des Canadiens!

  • She wants you to list how many teeth each player has, not their name.
  • I just want to say that I just got an email from a loyal listener (since the 2nd or 3rd episode as he pointed out) who has all the correct answers so far. He said that he only had to look up one of the names with is #22. He also got the bonus trivia correct.

    That made my day.

(He is from Minnesota, all things considered.)
  • What do I win?
  • What do I win?
The shout out that I already gave during the recording as the rules stated.

Which doesn't surprise me that you didn't fully read them because you sent your answers to the wrong email address. =P

The thought has crossed my mind about making really generic key chains of the ATW9K logo and sending them to winners. I have many leftover insert picture key chains that I bought in bulk for cross-stitch key chain projects. I could always just print out some logos and insert in the key chain and send them out to winners.

But that thought was very fleeting.

Aww man, I was hoping it would be a spot on the show.

/sarcasm (but not really) (Also, "good grief, it's a running gag")

No worries. Deadline is not until Thursday anyways. I'm just happy that I've already received 6 submissions and they were all correct and said nice things to me. I feel vindicated.

  • Next week: Identify these fast food menu items? SO HUNGRY.
    That's not a bad idea.
  • The NHL Jersey Shore answers are here. I'm so happy for all the submissions I received and were all 100% correct.

This week: Photo Friday - War! Huh! Good, God, Y'all!

    image

Name that war related movie in each of the images provided.

Bonus Trivia: Name at least 2 actors that had a role in more than one of these movies.

I especially like the images of #9 & #32. #14, I actually played the movie on my computer just for that screen cap in honor of Pete. ^___~
  • 3 - Saving Private Ryan
    4 - Lawrence of Arabia
    5 - Das Boot
    7 - Apocalypse Now
    8 - The Great Dictator
    9 - Full Metal Jacket
    11 - Braveheart
12 - Grave of the Fireflies
    15 - Platoon?
17 - Paths of Glory or All Quiet on the Western Front?
    22 - Master and Commander?
    25 - Jarhead
    27 - Pearl Harbor
    32 - Dune?

I should definitely know more of these as I've seen almost every major war movie there is. It's just hard to tell by the pictures. Even the ones I've guessed I probably got some wrong. No confidence in most of these answers.

    32 is Starship Troopers, Scott.

    14 - Inglourious Basterds
    18 - Tropic Thunder

Fuck, I've seen that. I just remembered the bugs being much more exo-skeleton-y. Should have use a jpg from the famous unisex shower scene instead. I would have gotten that for sure.
  • Bonus - that's Niel Patrick Harris in 32.

Yes, because that would have been totally appropriate. I initially thought about doing that image, but Jason and my better judgement decided not to. I then decided to use the monster vagina bug instead. =P

Andrew is correct on all the ones he's answered.

    HInts:
#1 is in the Top 10 of IMDBs Top 250.
#7 is literally the title of the movie.
#10 most wouldn't associate it as a war movie. Quite possibly one the scariest monsters I've seen on cinema.
#24 is based a novel (same titled) inspired by actual events. It also stars Ernest Borgnine, Charles Bronson, Donald Sutherland, and Telly Savalas.
#26 two friends from the land of Churba go to fight a war in an Eurasian country.
#30 was Marty McFly's 3rd major dramatic role.

  • 1 - Must be Schindler's List, which I wouldn't really count as a war movie.
    26 - Gallipoli
  • It is war related, which I did say in the initial post. =P
  • 7 - Bridge of River Qwai?
  • 7 is Bridge on the River Kwai, which is what I would have said first if Scott hadn't thrown me off.
24 should be The Dirty Dozen
30 is Casualties of War, I assume, which I deduced from the hint.
  • So just 10 then. I will say the little girl is the main character of the movie. That guy is her evil step father.

EDIT: Herp, should've gone to the last page before I posted.
