This is the greatest thing ever made.

  • I will do any movie, just gimme the word.
You still owe us for copping out of Knowing. I shall select you for Christmas with the Cage. Anybody else want the last spot? Get it while it's in the cage.

  • You got my films. I have Bad Lieutenant on my HTPC. This can happen.
  • Yeah sorry about that. I can't remember why I failed so comprehensively, but I'm sure the reason was awesome. I was probably following a treasure map on the back of the declaration of independence to escort a witch on a plane full of convicts to a mysterious island ruled by beekeepers.

You failed because you were not a good swimmer and you sacrificed yourself for your family while searching for the cities of gold.

  • Christmas with Cage? This sounds intriguing. Tell me more.
  • This is basically an episode revolving around me, Ryan, sketchbook, and a mystery guest (as of this post) reviewing an animated version of A Christmas Carol. From what I've heard, it's a very mediocre film with some names attached to it (Nicolas Cage (of course), Kate Winslet, Simon Callow, Rhys Ifans, etc). The Cage Connection to this film is that Cage plays Marley, of all parts. We'll see if this special is as meh as it is said to be or if there is something more to it, make a raspberry at the pessimists, and celebrate as a truly memorable holiday film.
  • That sounds like a god awful film and perfect for the Cage.

Interested in proclaiming tis the season on the episode?

For sure! The whole thing sounds like great fun and is perfect excuse to get some decent audio kit.
  • People need excuses to do that? I had no idea.
  • I am but a poor student, when you drop £100 a month on books indulging other hobbies have to take a back seat. It will also stop me from shit talking and do one of my projects that I've had on the back burner.

(in a gently lilting mental hospital doctor tone) Now Victor, what did we learn in class? Not everyone is an audio nerd like you are.

By the way, why the sudden name change? You aren't a power ranger so far as I can tell.

The same reason Ro became Trick Ro Treat.

Is there a Halloween connection with the name?

  • More along the lines of " 'tis the season".
  • So in between now and the Christmas Special we want to rerecord two episodes that were lost to the aether. Anybody want to do Peggy Sue Got Married (a great movie) or the Wicker Man (the Cage's best comedy)?

    Just throwing it out there.

Peggy Sue is on Netflix Instant Streaming, so it is very easy to watch this movie. Also, he isn't lying when says it is great; it is truly a great movie.

More specifically, it is a great parallel to Back to the Future in that the sci-fi is replaced with fantasy and the protagonist running from the past is changed to the protagonist embracing it with nostalgia.

Also, I would put quotation marks around comedy when bringing up The Wicker Man. Raising Arizona is Cage's best comedy.

  • Everyone got what he meant when he said that. I don't believe the Wicker Man is on instant streaming and I would never actually legitimately pay for it I would be interested in Rocking Peggy Sue Got Married. Hit me up with a time frame for it and we'll see if we can't set things up.

Just setting the record straight just because. I think it should be stated because there are those consider this to be true without ever having seen the amazing Raising Arizona, which is unfortunate. Also I'm totally game having you on.

EDIT: This and The Cage Must Drive Angry In the Third Dimension (official title of episode)

Oh one more update everybody, we are now abandoning Skype as our primary recording medium.

Based on Sonic's success with G+ Hangouts for FNPL, we have decided to give that a shot as well.

If you don't have a G+ Account, I would suggest you all get one because that is how we want to do it from now on.

  • Should I call Lord of War now or has someone beat me to that punch long ago?

Jared Banta has already called it. Sorry my good friend :(
There will be plenty more opportunities for being on the show, so don't worry.

  • As soon as it's possible to find Stolen without a bunch of comments saying the download completely legal source is fake, I would love to talk about Stolen.
  • Calling 8mm. if no one has yet. Got a good story about renting it for family movie night at the local video store.

Luke Burrage has already called it, but maybe I could fit you in. I need to see it first in order to decide whether or not it needs more than one person.

Oh that one will be great to do...mostly because Joel Schumacher directed it and both Ryan and I have a lot of ire to hurl at that bastard. Suffice to say, you are in.

Also...check out our brand new supplementary podcast to Cage Rage called...

    CAGE RAGE CUTTING ROOM GEMS.

Just listen to it and you will understand what it is immediately. I apologize for the ass audio in the first half. This is because I wanted to throw something out rather immediately. I will not let this be the case in the future...even though I gotta relearn some of the shit I learned in Audition 3.0 and see how it works in Audition CS6.

  • I think some of your thoughts mixed together. Joel Schumacher directed 8MM, Simon West directed Stolen.

Hate him too. Expendables 2 was okay, but that's all I care about from him. Everything else I despise from him.

Expendables 2 and The Mechanic are two films that I really enjoy in retrospect, even though I was pretty bored while I was actually watching them. What that says about Simon West, I have no idea.

Or maybe it says something about me having a bad memory.
