Facebook has a new app called "Rooms."

http://www.rooms.me/

Supposedly it requires no actual Facebook account. On paper this seems like if you got a lot of buy-in from your friends, this could replace a lot of other things like forums, delicious, pinterest, group.me/beluga, etc.

No android option at the moment, could be another instragram issue when they are added in.

The only draw card is that it doesn't need a Facebook account.
The downside is that the functionality is restricted to iOS.
It seems a bit like Google+ Communities?

So after using it for all of 10 minutes, I actually like it a lot. The best feature is having a different username in each room.

Ahh, great for conventions, however Hangouts worked fine for us at Prime.

Sort of. I use Slack at work, and so do many people I know. I really wish they would make a public version. Maybe rooms is beating them to market?
