Normally responses to my craigslist postings are reasonable. But sometimes they are so obviously fake it hurts. Do people really fall for this shit? One last year was passable, but the opening line set me off. I can't find that one now, but here's one from today.

The con? I had no idea from the first email. But there is a certain vibe to most replies (I've had about a hundred over the last four years) that tells that you they are probably genuine. The above reply? Not so much! For a start, I only want a temp for 1 month, not 6. Second, the bit about the terrible break up. Third, I answered the other questions. Forth, the insistence on the email directly. Fifth, who puts IMPORTANT NOTICE in an email like this?
My WTF wasn't that I got a dodgy response, but that I actually got an email with a photo of a suitcase full of cash.
Standard vaccinations, actually, should be a requirement for employment.

Employers should be federally mandated by the government to get a hard copy of shot records before taking on a new hire. Freelancers should lose private contractor tax status unless they prove they are vaccinated. If I run for a public office, this will be part of my platform.

I live in Virginia, and the doctors here told my wife to take our kids to the health department to get their shots. I'm pretty sure they were free. Now this may have changed, since my youngest is 14 now. But I'm pretty sure that if you are on welfare, you are getting your shots free.

My father is a deer hunter. Once a year he goes to a deer lease and hunts off and on for about three months. He doesn't kill them just for the fun of it, but for food. Where we are from, there is a huge overpopulation of deer, and if no one hunted them, they would probably starve.
But one day, some new guy decided to kill a deer just so he could get a trophy, and left the carcass behind. My dad and the other hunters ran him off the moment they found out. They hate being grouped with all of these idiots. The most important part of hunting is being responsible with the environment.
