That's not much of a surprise. He's banned a dozen other outlets, and even more journos. Politico, Des Moines Register, NH union Leader, Huffpo, Buzzfeed, Gawker, Mother Jones, Tri-state defender, Jorge Ramos from Univision, NYT's Trip Gapriel, Michael Mayo, the list goes on.
Good. As much as I dislike Gakwer, I hate rich fucks end-running the law and trying to put a choke chain and leash on the press infinitely more. I'm happy to see Gawker keep on keeping on, for as long as it's sheer existence continues to be an enormous fuck you to Peter Thiel.
I expected a brash, laughing-as-the-ship-sinks, thumbing the nose bit, but that was surprisingly honest and thoughtful, and didn't pull any punches about Gawker's failings.
It's not really part of the article, but I did find the Kinja "This Discussion is Closed" at the end to be rather poignant.

I think this post should be required reading for journalism students.
I guess it's time to accept the fact that I live in a place where the rich can trivially silence the poor, despite literally rule 1 saying you can't do that.

Didn't know this could happen but this could be mighty dangerous on anyone who promotes non-Trump ideas...
Also, Nick Denton will be out of the news business for 2 years as part of a noncompete pact with Univision.

Oh gee, if only some group of people had predicted this. Alas, alas, if only we could forsee the completely unforeseeable.
