South Park S10E12: Evolution and Atheism

edited November 2006 in Everything Else
So who here saw Wednesday's South Park? It was, in my opinion, the best South Park episode ever. I can't wait for the next part. Any other thoughts?

/It's available in the usual places
//By that I mean a rerun tonight at 10 PM EST. Of course. In no way did I mean BitTorrent. Nope.

  • I don't usually watch South Park, however this was a particularly excellent episode. ^_^

  • You really thought this particular episode was that great? I mean, it was good with the FSM and the Wii and the frozen thing, but I think it's the low-light so far of this season...
  • It was all right, but definitely not as funny as the WoW episode.

Yeah, exactly. You just can't beat the WoW episode...

The WOW episode was good, but it was by no means the best South Park episode.
  • I think that I still love that TP & MS always give it to the extremists in anything and it was Richard Dawkins' turn Wed.
  • This episode is good but thus far, this season, the 9/11 episode is the best, by a long shot.

The future warring Atheist factions reminded me of a Simpsons episode where Bart convinces the Protestants and Catholics to get along and 1000 years later, there's a giant war between two factions preaching different parts of Bart's idea.

I love how the only thing Cartman cares about is getting his pudgy little hands on a Wii. Very entertaining episode.

    Sea Otters FTW!

I mean, this season. I have to say, probably the best episode of all time in my opinion has to be "Choir Tour".

Definitely the most quotable this season with it's multiple descriptions of someone crapping in the urinal.

I will agree with most of this.
  • According to Penn Jillette, Matt Stone and Trey Parker were pissed off at Dawkins when they were writing this episode. I can't say I agree with them on that; I saw his documentary and absolutely loved it. I can't wait to pick up his book. No, wait, my parents are religious. I guess we'll just have to wait for the next episode for their (in)famous statement of opinion with lame piano music in the background.
  • No single answer is the answer to everything :P
  • What is the great question!?
  • Haha, right now I'm taking an Ecology and Evolution class. My professor has an electronic "suggestion box" to which students can send anonymous comments, questions, and relevant links to science articles online. However, the anonymous suggestions are somewhat abused. Since he opens and reads them in front of the class, there's the potential for all sorts of mischief. Someone even sent in a Chuck Norris joke. But today went beyond that.

The professor opened up a comment, in which someone had forwarded a link to a video explaining evolution. He clicks on it and proceeds to play it... it's a segment from the South Park evolution episode where that cross-dressing teacher explains how evolution works. "Then that retarded fish had buttsex with this squirrel thing that had a retarded baby which had buttsex with that ape!"

Two hundred kids crying with laughter, it was hilarious.
  • Sounds like that suggestion box would work a lot better if he screened it first.
  • But then it wouldn't be nearly as entertaining.
