What would you build into this...
Some of you may know I'm working on a site similar to kittenwar.com but geared towards art and artists.
What I would like to know is what features you would want to see on the site.
I'm currently planning to:
1) Allow each image to have a ton of tags.
2) Clicking on an image (not the voting one) will bring you to the artist alley page for that artist.
3) Artist Alley page would have a block of text written by the artist and a gallery of their images. I'm not sure if it should be filmstrip style or thumbnails...
4) Allow for "waring" images that fall under the tags you select. i.e. if you only want to see 'fan-art, manga, drawings' then the images you vote on will all have those tags.
5) Clicking on a tag will bring up a gallery of images with that tag. Probably allow for sorting based on rank, submission date or artist.
I'm still heavy on the development side for this so fire away!
