I would contend that the shower in your house is one of those "tap the top of the dial and it gets 10 degrees hotter" showers. Every time I come over I have to spend like 5 minutes adjusting the fucking thing until it's just right, because the threshold between uncomfortably cold and BURNING YOUR SKIN OFF HOT is about an eighth of an inch of turnage :P
Edit: Also, whatever that blue or green soap is in your shower, it smells *terrible.* It has that icky kind of "man smell" that's marketed as being a masculine scent, but in actuality just smells like ass.

That's Scott's. I tell him it smells awful on a semi-regular basis.
So, I take a shower before I go to sleep. I can't imaging being in my bed lying on my own dirt (I just can't sleep). Then I take a shower before I got to work, after I come from work so I can go to school. After I do exercise. On the weekends I take a shower after I wake up, then again after 2 hours later when I come from running.
Yeah, I think I am sick.
Never thought a show about showering could go on for so long. Though I do agree with Rym about the use of something to actually rub your skin with something. I use AXE shower gel and even though the bottle says you can just rub yourself with your hand, I don't feel clean unless I'm scrubbing my skin with a sponge or wash cloth.
I just watched that Wii video, the title of Wii and Zelda Porn is apt, very, very apt. I feel so sorry for that box man. I really hope this is a job he's got to get himself through college or something 'cause I would hate that to be my career. He doesn't even get to touch the Wiimote, just the empty boxes. it's very sad.
I never really used soap either and haven't had problems with stink... That's probably why I didn't find out until very recently that I have sensitive skin, and shouldn't use the stuff anyway. Of course, I shower/bathe twice a day, so that probably helps.
This, my friends, is the episode where I lost my excitement for Geek Nights. It was an hour of Rym interrupting Scott, and was just too much to take.
Sorry, Rym, but your charisma points just fell big time with me. Let Scott talk, and if you disagree, say so when it's appropriate. With the constant interruption, it just wasn't fun to listen to.
Now I suppose that you'll say that it's just the way you guys speak - but I'm telling you that it doesn't make for good radio.
I like you guys, and I like your show... but I can honestly say that I'm not excited to listen anymore after that episode. Talking about something trivial can be very entertaining - if done in the right way. This, sadly, was not the case. The conversation was not allowed to flow thanks to Rym's constant interrupting/chiding of Scott. Like I said... it's fine if you talk that way in real life, but it hurts the show. (IMHO)
An example... Scott: "I wash using soa..." Rym: (interrupting) "That doesn't get you clean!"
Some constructive criticism: a) Let Scott finish his sentence. b) Don't be so dismissive. A question like: "Do you really think that gets you clean?" promotes dialog - something that was completely lacking in this episode. c) Since your position is obviously your opinion, and not based on actual research, why not let Scott get his statement out without interruption? When your opinion is interjected so forcefully, it makes the conversation tedious to listen to.
Okay... like I said... hopefully you guys can take some constructive advice. Just remember... the "it's the way we talk" line doesn't equate to "it's the best way to talk on a podcast."
The reason we listen to the podcast is to listen to them talk, when you start putting rules and regulations on the way they talk, it's no longer the 'actual' way they talk. It defeats the reason why we listen to the podcast and it would no longer be the true GeekNights, get off the high horse, if you don't want to listen... then don't. Otherwise, listen and enjoy. If there's an episode you don't like, oh well. There are episodes of everyone's favorite show that they just didn't like. Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park, ANY show has ones that certain people just didn't like. Get over it.
While I am in full support of constructive criticism, they heard you the first time, to keep reiterating yourself is just not useful. They addressed your concern before whether you like or accept their answer is up to you.

Umm... where the heck did that come from? I've never raised this point before. (I could be mistaken, but I don't ever recall bringing it up.) I know that others have raised it, but it was never something I gave much thought to until this episode.
All I was saying was that for me personally it's become rather tedious to listen to. I like complete sentences and less interruption- but that's just my personal preference. If other folks love it, then great. Likewise, Scrym can ignore my comments. That's fine. I never claimed to be speaking on behalf of all of the listeners - rather, I was just voicing one opinion. (Did you choose to ignore the "IMHO" part?) They can do with that what they please. Sheesh.
To be sure, there is a place for cutting off your partner - many famous comedic duos have mastered this. The problem is that they almost always utilize a "straight man" and a "funny man." Geek Nights has two straight men. Since both hosts are intelligent, I want to hear what both have to say. That's why I was getting frustrated - one prong of the intelligent duo was constantly being cut off by the other.
Like I said, if you like that style of conversation, then so be it. I listen to become informed. It gets frustrating when one person isn't allowed to inform me. Just my two cents.
I'm surprised that you would object to Rym and Scott hearing honest feedback and/or seek to censor someone from voicing an honest opinion. Seems odd and somewhat insecure to me...
And that was immature. ;p We are hopefully above name-calling and similar acts around here, save for comedic purposes!
The interruptions can get a bit much but most of the time it doesn't bother me. Largely because I regard the show as entertainment more than anything else. There's information in there but it tends to come in the form of longer rants and those don't get interrupted so much. Or so I feel. I'll keep an ear out now that you've mentioned it though. *shrugs*
Fair enough. I just tend to get a little touchy when one launches an attack based on incorrect facts. I've got no problem taking heat - but at least use facts that are truthful! Also, it was somewhat frustrating when mitsukai said "The reason we listen to the podcast..." I only speak for myself. He's entitled to his opinion as well. I figured we could keep it at that without claiming to speak on behalf of everyone else.
The simple truth is that I used to listen to Geek Nights religiously. I think I've only listened to one episode since the "bathing" show. I just figured I'd let Scrym know why, since I know that they can handle constructive feedback. That's all.
Here's my favorite routine: Hot bath, with laptop sitting on the counter by the sink. Nothing like a hot bath and good show or movie to watch.
Nothing like a ruined laptop.
How so? The unit sits about 6 feet away from the tub, it's not near any water (the counter it sits on is quite large).
If you get the bathroom all steamy, like most people who bathe with hot water do, that is not so good.
Oh, good point. But since I do this in the morning when no one else is home I keep the bathroom door open and there's little or no steam or condensation (mirror is still clear, not steamed up).
I should add that the reason I do this in the morning and why no one else is home is because I drive my girlfriend to work at 5:30am and I don't have to work until 8:00am...so I have a lot of time available in the morning for such things.

I can't remember how many times I've yelled "Fuck!" when I burnt my hands when washing them in the sink.
Yeah, I think I am sick.
