Themed weeks. OMGSPLOSION!

edited February 2006 in GeekNights
I liked the whole idea mentioned at the end of the latest cast [2/21/06].
I'd say....try it out for a week, if it sucks, then it sucks.

But it could rock, and you could have a themed week every month or so.

Keep in mind that this is coming from a 16 year old kid with no podcasting experience...so you might want to ignore it. 8P

  • We really like the idea. Any suggestions for good themes in particular? We've already got "robot week" as a good possibility.
  • Religion week? News concerning the major organized religions, anime and manga with religious themes and/or settings and plots.

SF/Near-future week? The latest breakthroughs and possible developments, both social and technological, for the near future. The near-future anime and manga, such as Planetes and GitS:2nd GIG and so on.

Martial Arts or Military History week. Probably not that interesting to other people, but talk about shows and whether their portrayal of combat fits within a semi-realistic framework. Discuss and argue major campaigns and battles of history, and the political/economic/social factors which led to them and the consequences.

Hmmm, but what to do on the Thursdays of the themed weeks?

  • Thursdays can be about the topic itself in a raw form. That, or an op-ed type show.
