Death Note: an Allegory for the War on Terror?

edited December 2006 in Everything Else
This is not based on any articles that I have read but I have been noticing some parallels between Death Note and America's War on Terror. Soichiro Yagami raised Light as America helped many of the current enemies in the Middle East. The terrorist's goal is to create order by destorying those who they see as criminals. It has developed into a game a cat and mouse between the Americans (task force) and the terrorists (Light). I may just be reading into it too much but I would just like some comments

  • I'm not sure, and I'm too lazy to look it up, but I think Death Note was written before that whole "War on Terror" thing.
  • Then that means bush is a terrorist!
  • Borat support a-de U.S. in our war of terror! Jagshemash.
  • I misread the title again, I read "Allergy to the War on Terror". Yes I have one of those, every time I hear the phrase I get the urge to vomit and throw something at the TV.
