No, seriously, one Christmas when I was 4, I asked for tape, received a box of it, and proceeded to tape the banister and everything else. Ah, kidlings.
Among my presents were:
- Sorel Snow-boots with heavy duty rubber bottoms, the kind you wear in the Canadian snow. - Japanese rice-bowls with bunnies on them. - A book about tree-houses of the world. - A nice pot and some kitchen stuff - Sportsbras and jogging shirts - A hat my sister knit me - The original Japanese novel of Kiki's Delivery Service. - A omamori charm from Kamakura.
Yeah, guess who's pop just got back from Japan...heheh. My mom got a lot of Japanese swag, like a Totoro art book and stuff, and a traffic safety charm. It was a fun Christmas all around.
- Star Trek - Star Trek TNG Season 5 - Star Trek: First Contact - Borderlands - Shirts - Socks - A big, fluffy Yoda - The complete Riverworld saga - Fletch and Confess Fletch by Gregory McDonald - When I was 10 or so, we didn't have many comic books. This year, my little brother hunted down a copy of the Buck Rogers comics trade paperback we fawned over. It's quite difficult to find, and I was very pleased with him.
I didn't get anything interesting. My parents rewarded my frugalness and matched what I've managed to save in my 6 months of employment. Very cool and most unlike my mother. Putting it into the bank toward the purchase of my next car.
-Two spiffy shirts - More Information Than You Require by John Hodgman - A metric shitton of candy - $100, plus an Amazon giftcard that will swiftly be used to buy NSMB Wii - I Told You I Was Freaky - Pocketknife - Alarm clock (now with iPod compatibility)
Most notably I got the complete short stories of Ernest Hemingway, a dictionary of human biology, Gears of War 2, Assassin's Creed 2, my brother got a Wii with New Super Mario Bros, and my dad got the complete Monty Python's Flying Circus. Despite all the troubles surrounding it, Christmas vacation has been a pretty good time so far.
It's been a buy my own gifts sort of christmas (I got a few manga from Your Mom and a picture "tray" from my parents) Steam has been taking all my hard earned money as well.
Good Christmas!! - Complete collection of Farscape - Complete collection of Mr. Show (yeah mom!) - Vampire Hunter D - 7 Gantz manga - Vacuum, sewing box (feel domesticated) - Off-brand pink plaid snuggie (which will be burned) Hope everyone has a merry xmas!!
Merry Christmas, y'all! - Wii w/ New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Very slidey, I've found) - a silly Mr. Potato Head shirt - $45 in iTunes - $30 Visa giftcard - A mustache for everyday - Other really silly things

Best part was spending Christmas in Wash. state, big meals and absolutely stunning scenery.
Well, since everyone seems to be doing it, here is a description of my loot: - Gift Certificate to a clothing store (which has materialized into some much needed new clothing) - Canes for my cane collection (technically one is Adam's, but that is a sweet cane, so I am claiming marital privilege and calling them both "ours") - Swarovski crystal necklace and earrings set that look like shards of blue crystal - Iceland calendar - my folks ordered it from Iceland as a memento for our trip - New PJs - Photo of my late Grandfather dramatically posed on a high hill in front of an Irish castle that my mother had enlarged and framed for me - Kosher Hotdog (from my Dad for a lark) - Silver bracelet from my folks (styled in a Greek way - it is neat) - Brown and cream colored hoodie from my grandparents - Gift certificate to Borders from my grandparents - Shredder - Fancy purse (that will be returned, but was very thoughtfully purchased) - Purple purse with wallet - My mother's set of Royal Tara shamrock patterned china (a collection my great grandmother started) - various stocking stuffers (chocolates, costume jewelry, lotions, etc.) - checks from my in-laws
