Core 2 Duo

edited May 2007 in Technology
Since I am planing on buying a laptop I wanted to ask if there is a "real" difference between the 1.83, 2.0, 2.2 Ghz Core 2 Duos.

My laptop at this point is:

15.4"
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7300 2x 2,0Ghz
2048 MB DDR2 PC667
160 Gigabyte, 5400rpm
512MB NVIDIA Geforce 8600GO
DVD Burner

1048,95€

That's one monstrously powerful laptop. I hope you aren't planning on carrying it around with you. And good luck getting the battery to last any significant amount of time.
  • Yeah, don't try buring any DVDs on battery power!
  • Is there any way I can find out how long the battery would last?

It depends on too many factors. The manufacturer or retailer should tell you a rough estimate.
  • It only says:

    - LiIon Akku 6 Cells (German)
  • I'd say get the 2.0 and downsize everything else. And for a laptop, you can get away with a lesser video card for sure. You'll also definitely want to lessen your hard drive for weight.
  • I've now searched for more laptops, since I'm still not sure if I should get a far more portable one. So now I have one question, wtf is Intel Centrino Duo? Is it worse than the "normal" Intel Core 2 Duo? I think so but is there a "real" difference.

If anyone has an Idea for a portable Laptop under 1100$ please tell me!

    Centrino Duo

The strength in it seems to be it's power saving features. At least that's what I got from it.
  • If so then this is the perfect notebook/laptop for me:
