Toys R Us had 20% on Lego today, so I got my project for the weekend:
I've been building on this thing for three hours now and I'm only halfway through the second of six (!) building instruction books. This thing has 2606 pieces, which makes it by far the largest Lego Technic set released to date, and over all Lego sets I think it's just outside the top 10. It beats the Unimog, which I also own, by more than 550 pieces. It also has 32 stud length Plus-axles which are always awesome.
And if that isn't enough I also got this one, clocking in at a solid 1276 pieces:
Occasionally, yeah. The Unimog I was talking about earlier has a motorized compressors. I believe this green service truck has too but I am not entirely sure.
I heard something interesting about Lego the other day (I think on the Bombcast) where one of them was telling an anecdote about how Lego never deals with any properties that are considered "adult". I guess it kinda makes sense.

When I was a kid I wrote to LEGO asking for military LEGO. They replied and said they don't do guns.
At that very time I knew it was bullshit, because I had this set built and on my desk.
My first set. It was so much bigger in my memory. I remember it with more towers, a larger gate house and more features. What I love most about it is that it's all simple lego pieces rather than having custom made sections making up a whole wall.
