Stock Market Crash: Survival Guide

Well if you’ve been reading the news it’s coming so I figured at least we could be prepared. As capitalism and democrazy fails, what should we do to prepare?
  1. Buy a gun. Preferably a shotgun.
  2. Plywood for windows.
  3. Canned food/water.
  4. Entire savings in cash under mattress.
  5. . . . your turn!

    I heard about this lately and all I really know is it's bad when the stocks go down. Plus that it brings a depression like in history. I just don't understand what really causes such things. Bad decisions and business plans or investments in wrong stock? Or does one event in finances cause a ripple effect that can hurt our economy as well as the world?

    Brain hurts again...Viga going into safe mode.

    Anyways do you all think it will be the same magnitude as in the 1930's? Is this a case where humans forgot to learn from history?

    Fascinating...but it really does make my brain hurt!

    In this case it has to do significantly with the mortgage industry over leveraging credit in high-risk loans. They tried to take advantage of low interest rates and now they're getting burned. Specifically today it was CountryWide (if you want to search google news) draining something like $11.5 billion in credit to cover daily operations costs (like people salaries) . . . which is a lot for America's biggest lender.
    Anyways do you all think it will be the same magnitude as in the 1930's?
    No . . . but it's more fun if we pretend.

    A plane ticket to a more tropical place. Too difficult to live off the land in Utah. If I were smart, I'd purchase a village in South America and rebuild it, like in Mosquito Coast.
