Playing old games in Virtual OS environments - does it work?

edited September 2007 in Video Games
I've recently found a copy of System Shock 2, but it doesn't work on my Vista system. So I installed Windows 98 via VMWare Server to see if it will work on that. I haven't had time to try to install it in this virtual OS yet, but I was wondering if anyone here has any experience installing and playing games in the virtual environment. How did it work out for you?

  • I'm playing System Shock 2 in Windows XP with no problems.
  • Yeah, I am going to install it on my XP laptop as a last resort. I was hoping to get it going on my Vista PC 'cause that's the one I have hooked up to my TV...even though it won't look that great on the TV using Windows 98 via VMWare.
