Problems with video

For some reason video wont play in other media players like VLC. It just messes up and turns pink and orange. In windows media player it plays but it lags so badly with the audio. Could it be my video card or my comp can't handle video well?

Download matroska and then classic meadia player.

Try using SMplayer which is mplayer set out like VLC. If mplayer won't work there is probably something wrong with the file itself.
