I am hit with the realization the even the weirdest of dancing looks cool if you have at least one other person doing it with you.

  • It breaks my heart to know that the movie that has this fight scene in it is crappy.
    Nothing beats this fight scene.

Whoever told you that is a lying bastard or just doesn't have identical movie taste to me. Either way, I love that movie. Beats out the 80s OVA and Sins in my mind.

Found out today that my chemistry teacher writes a cooking blog. And yes, he speaks in class as he speaks on the blog.

    Corrected link here.
  • I remember Scott talking about the unknown anime Coo and I've wanted to see it since he talked about it. Now I found a Japanese language, english hard subbed version of Tooi Umi Kara Kita Coo.

  • There's this podcast I listen to where they mentioned that.
  • That video has appeared no less than 4 times in this thread, and on that podcast Omnu listens to.

I would just like to point out that I was on that shit before all y'all.
  • I've posted a few videos of this before, but there is a great series of physics videos by the University of Nottingham on YouTube. It's called Sixty Symbols. Sometimes they do viewer questions and the first one today is really funny in how they answer it, though it is quite expected:

  • I present to you - Dance Fortress 2

Also, on this guy's channel, you can see the individual dances of each class, as well as some of his other animations.
  • The animation is really great and everything, but the camera left much to be desired. All of this going on, and I'm expected to watch all of it at once? Not happening. He could have made it a bit longer and focused on each character more. It wouldn't have been much more animation either.

Well, He also has each independent character or character set dance on his youtube channel. I think he did it this way for a reason, but damned if I can tell what it is - Though, I must say, just showing each class dance independently either in a row or with cuts between would feel a little cheap.

Also, I point out that he recommends that you watch it full screen, and the highest resolution.

I think his pick for credits song is relevant.

  • I know all of that, but that doesn't change anything.

Not as cheap as it feels with a static camera trying to show everything at once. And he would be more creative than just cutting to each animation, he'd make it flow. It's not that the "show everything" camera is against the rules, but it can't be the only camera you use.

That was totally awesome. Das Supertalent > America's Got Talent.

I do have to wonder how that man hasn't succumbed to water intoxication yet.

I suppose it's a matter of opinion - and I will note that I am biased, since I'd seen all of the character class dances before I watched that.
  • That means heaven was the first unlockable achievement. Think about it.

The thing is - A variety act is super, super unlikely to win XYZ has talent. It is always most likely a musical or dance act. The closest they've come to a variety act was a Ventrilloquist/comedian/impressionist/singer, who ended up with a show at the Mirage in Vegas. The only non-singing winner of Britan's got talent was a dance troupe. The only Non-singing winner of Australia's got talent was a guitarist, though curiously, the runner up one year was a Gum-leaf musician.

Across all the countries with a Got talent series, the pattern continues - if you're not a musical act, your chances are pretty goddamn slim.

At least they get exposure, though. A random dude from Ghana getting that kind of reaction from such a big audience for something so unique and out there? That's always cool.

Except America's Got Talent had a guy audition this year whose variety act was taking fireworks to his junk. Not cool.
