Specific to Power Rangers, the childish tone was a big reason why I didn't enjoy it. Strip that away and make it "gritty" (A term that I think is way overused), the premise is solid. I mean, at it's core, Power Rangers is a cool concept, I just don't like the way it was delivered originally.
