A Kilogram isn't what it used to be

edited September 2007 in Technology
The "official" prototype that all kilograms are measured against has mysteriously lost 50 micrograms. Scientists are a little confused. They aren't sure if all the national copies made from it has somehow gained the 50 micrograms or if this one official one has lost the 50 micrograms. However by it's very definition, since it's lost 50 micrograms, the official measurement of a Kilogram is now smaller.
