Steam community group?

edited September 2007 in Video Games
I think it would be easier for us to play on steam together if someone started a group. Then if any of us wanted to play on steam together it would be easy as point and click. I will look into it myself, and if anything happens on my end I'll let everyone know.

  • Nevermind......

  • :: Due to recent hack attempts we are monitoring steam accounts VERY closely. We have noticed 2 different IP address logged into your account recently. In order to verify that YOU are the correct owner we require you to log in (http://verificationcenter.tk). Once you log in your ip will verify who you are and be set to your steam account.
Be careful. Someone in the Steam group is trying to phish account passwords.
  • I've sent out an announcement to all members of the group. From what I can tell however, I can't kick him from the group because it's public.
  • I have taken the time to inform steam support of this ::'s behavior.
  • It's probably not a malicious person, it's probably an idiot. What happens is they were stupid and got phished. As a result, the phisher has abducted their Steam account and attempts to phish others.

The account was created two days ago. They have multiple "friends" with the same user name of :: It seems like a phisher to me.

Maybe that's not the same account that tried to phish me last week.
  • So the admins don't have the power to kick :: out? That kind of sucks.
  • :: tried to phish me about a minute before Andrew posted his warning. By then, I'd already blocked that account, and I suggest everyone else does the same.
  • I assumed the :: tried to phish everyone who was online at that moment.
  • But, c'mon, ".tk"? Amateurs.

Yeah, that was a bit of a give-away.
  • Proposed Firefox safety feature: A warning that pops up whenever you go to a ".tk" or ".biz" domain name.
