File Manager Replacement for Windows XP

edited October 2007 in Technology
What are some good free file manager replacements for windows?  The default explorer does the job well enough.   So I don't really need a lot of fancy bells and whistles.  I would just like something that helps me get things done a little bit faster if possible.  I may be able to this already but I haven't figured it out.  One thing I would like to do is issue a command to have all subfolder files deleted.

 Thanks in advance.

This might be a decent question to drop in the science/technology "Ask Rym and Scott" thread.

  • Anyone remember when file manager replacements for DOS/Win3.1 were a cottage industry? A dual window Norton Commander style file manager would be good. I don't think anyone uses anything other than Explorer for XP, and I doubt Rym & Scott would bother. I'd be interested in what file managers they use for Linux (probably Nautilus).
  • I'm surprised Scott hasn't dropped in to say "Linux" yet...
