Dual booting retardism

OK, I have been using Ubuntu for about six months know. I miss my gaming terribly and it is just to hard to use wine for serious gaming. I have decided to try dual booting and I would like a guide or something. I check Google but couldn't find anything that great or good for and idiot. I've herd it is hard to go from Linux and dual booting to windows XP instead of the other way around.
