This article describes how the Manga industry works in Japan and how it continues to grow in the U.S. It's definitely a good read. I was surprised at how (and why) the fan fiction cottage industry is allowed to flourish. This is fascinating stuff.

Hmmmmm, a very good read. The (first few) comments are also a good addition to the article (only read the first comment though).

The comment I read talked about the same system already being used in America, with the fansubs. Don't have much to say beyond that hehe.
