Fly into Newark or LaGuardia?

I'm trying to figure out which airport we should fly into. My friend thinks Newark is better, but I've only ever flown into NYC via LaGuardia. What do you think?

    JFK with Jet Blue is the best. Air train + subway is the cheapest and best way to get from an airport to Manhattan.

    I really don't like LaGuardia. It's like a ghetto airport. If you take it to JFK, you can take the air train to the subway system.

    Looking to come in on Continental. JFK isn't until noon and we want to be there before that.

    It's only a 1/3rd of it. Not that that doesn't make it nice.
