Mystery FTP 550 error

Myself and my friend have identical set ups of Firefox and FireFTP but when we connect with the same account details, I get through fine and he gets a "550 Access Denied" error. Anyone ever run into this problem?

    Is this for your own private FTP server? I'm not sure but it seems like your host has implemented a saftey protocol that stops multiple people on the same FTP account from logging in simultaneously. Usually 550 errors are for user permissions restrictions, like someone who only has the permissions to browse and not upload then they do try to upload something.

    I tried logging out and ending the session manually. It appears the problem is with Windows XP SP2, it block passive FTP connections. Nvm now, we gave up trying.
