I never really pulled that many all-nighters. Usually I start being less productive around 2:00 or so, so I'll get a couple of hours of sleep rely on the fact that this'll make me more productive to offset the time spent sleeping.
I like pulling all nighters when I have nothing to do the next day or there's something crazy going on. For N00BCon, I think I pulled about three all nighters in two weeks to complete everything. Usually I get it done by 5, but I'd need to go to school so rather than sleeping for 3 hours and then attempting to wake up, I'd kill time with WoW or Sudoku.
The adrenaline kept me well awake, as did my constant habit of snacking. I drank mostly milk because we never have pop. The main problem was the next day, in which I'd be taking these little energy shots. I think they woke me up more because of the awful taste that stayed forever rather than caffeine.
I like sleep too much to do it for the hell of it.
Ahh, meanwhile, I got to sleep at a reasonable hour last night for two AP tests today. 7 hours of sleep, woke up at 6:30, and I feel great! I did most of my cramming immediately before the exam, and that definitely helped.
As for all-nighters. I recommend coffee over energy drinks. You don't need a sudden jolt of energy, you need a continuous supply, otherwise you crash.
