Microsoft isn't buying Yahoo

Thank goodness. I have a feeling that if Microsoft had bought them, it would be an epic disaster as they reorganized the whole thing the way they'd want it.

No matter what else you say about JCD, that jar is pretty heavy. You don't get semi-famous by calling it wrong every time.

I'm glad they didn't buy Yahoo. Just ask Time-Warner how that AOL purchase turned out.

  • Now that the deal has fallen apart, does anyone really believe that Jerry Yang can get the stock up to above $33 in the near future? If I were a shareholder of Yahoo, I'd be furious at Yang.

Only if they can actually consolidate and organize all their shit. Yahoo! right now consists of a whole bunch of separate unrelated things. Some of the parts are good, some are bad. Maybe if Yang actually tried to sort out the company internally, instead of warding off buyouts, the shareholders wouldn't be pissed.

Time for a hostile takeover? Why buy Yahoo at the inflated price when you can buy them up after you announce the deal is off?
