Nintendo has had problems recently in getting the word out about new games. If you aren't following the news on game blogs, you are pretty much not going to know a game is out until it's out. There's none of the advance hype usually associated with big games on other platforms. Thus, many of Nintendo's new games seem to appear out of nowhere.
I think part of it is Nintendo is trying to copy Apple. Don't talk about products until they are ready to be released. They're also trying to save money by not spending way too much on marketing and advertising. However, they are missing the Apple element of holding huge press events for new releases to build the excitement.
I think this new channel will go a long way towards keeping Wii owners informed about what new things Nintendo has coming down the pipe. However, I don't think it will help get people who don't already have Wiis, or don't have Wiis connected to the net, excited about the new games. As it stands, normal people who don't read game blogs are going to continue to be caught off-guard by new Nintendo releases. It doesn't make much sense to me because Nintendo is supposed to be targeting people who don't even know what a game blog is.

You gotta at least give it a fair chance, it may improve over time. Look how much the other channels have improved over time, don't judge it by how it is when it first comes out. While the Nintendo channel is interesting, I'm more interested in the TV Friend channel (which I hope will be released in America sometime). However this channel will be useless to you Scrym, as you don't have cable so don't waste any Wii blocks on it.
