Rebooting in 20 days

It's like svchost crashed and you're about to dump back into childhood. Except the countdown doesn't change when you mess with the system time.

ReBoot is a TV series, that is perhaps returning?
Ah wait, you knew that, with the reference to "childhood".
I guess I just didn't know about it myself because it didn't air here.

Someone is definitely doing something with the property. I've been seeing it come up more and more at conventions. This site is definitely related to the cartoon, 100%.
  • Oh mans, I LOVED Reboot. For some reason they were always changing when it aired where I live, so I only saw it rarely. But when I did, hoo boy!
  • That's definalty ReBoot. I'd recognize the double arrow thing anywhere.
  • Am I the only person who hated Reboot?

I was indifferent, if that counts.
  • Am I the only person who hated Reboot?
Yes, and you're an awful person for it.
  • I liked Reboot, but as the series went on, it lost its way. I think that the reason I liked it as a kid is because it was one of the few shows that actually had a cool sci-fi theme, and also had a somewhat serious serial plot. I'm not sure I would like it nowadays.

  • It had a lot of 3D jokes I didn't get as a kid. Like how the old master was named "Phong" (a shader)

I thought the guy with the silver hair was cool (Bob?), and how Enzo grew up and got all tough.
  • Oh noes! It's a game block!

Quote for truth. ;) Maybe you just didn't like it as a kid? You might want to watch it again (especially the later parts) and see if you like it any better now. There's a lot to be enjoyed as an adult that you might not have picked up on as a kid, as gomidog said.

Anyway, I loved Reboot. I liked it all up until the end of the third season, though I liked the first half and the second half for different reasons. I didn't end up seeing much of "season four" (Daemon Rising and onward), but for some reason, I didn't like what I saw of that very much. It felt kind of, I dunno, tacked on? I thought the third season had a spectacular ending (even when not including the awesome Pirates of Penzance song!), so it felt odd to see things go on after that. Which is why I'm not sure what to think of a series revival. If they can think of a great story for it, then w00t. But if it's not amazing, I think I'm probably going to feel the same way about it that I felt about those two movies.

By the way, anyone got any particular favourite episodes that they remember? One of my faves was the season three episode "Number 7," which in addition to being a brilliant, episode-long homage to The Prisoner (a show I also love), is also a serious, dramatic episode that explores Enzo/Matrix's character a lot.

I remember reading something about the relaunch awhile back. They set up some contest where people voted for various plot ideas and character designs for the new show but I never liked any of them (some I like plot but didn't like their characters and vice versa).

I was with the show and a fan all the way... only sad that it never had a real real ending with the season 4. Tempted to get a art of Reboot type book each time I happen to notice it at the comic book store.

A memorable episode would be the 1st (?) with Enzo as the guardian and they entered an Evil Dead game. Basically I just loved the Evil Dead bits.

I actually just watched the end of Season 3. If you cut out the 6-8 episodes they spend on the web-pirate-ship-thing, the series doesn't drop off too much. I also found that it starts getting a lot darker as the show moves on.

I enjoyed reboot allot whenever megabyte was the main villain in a story arch. When he wasn't around it lost something for me. The Demon rising series had its off and on moments but when they introduced double bob (being trojan megabyte), and it involved the love triangle and all that idiocy the show really put the nails in the coffin.
