Tonight on GeekNights, we discuss the humble videocard. Before that, Rym encounters a "business man" on the train, and Scott's job is getting a little weird. In the news, France has some trouble with Google Streetview, and Scott needs some RIM VC monies.
The Romans wore tunics under their togas, not any of your loincloth crap. Or at least most proper citizens did. Hell, most of the time the Romans wore tunics or nothing. The togas only came out for formal occasions, e.g. running for office, voting, or dinner parties.
GeekNights the corporation....think of all the tax deductions and possibilities. However I say seek some legal advice, some friends just made it into a corp (PBC productions if you were wondering) and they were told that the LLC is something to avoid. So seek Dewey Cheatem & How for advice.
Scott: Well, you know who else works on Wall Street? The Wall Street hotdog vendor.
+1 Scott.
My guess would be that the reason people like the 11-7 schedule is because they go barhopping after work.
If the people of France are hostile towards camera trucks, have laws in place that restrict their use, and they are not interested in repealing those laws, I see no reason why they couldn't, wouldn't, or shouldn't tell Google to piss off if they won't play by the rules. It's their country, after all.
iFundapplication form. And setting up a company iseasy.
But is an LLC what we want? How do I know an LLC is the way to go?
I heard from a business major that you'd basically have to be stupid to do something other than an LLC. But this was a while ago, and he was from Arizona, so I don't know if it's still true.
You guys may have "heard this" or "heard that", and you may be right for all I know. The reality is that I can't risk my livelihood on something you heard from some guy.

I say ask a lawyer, and see if it is right for you. It is your life, we just give you suggestions that you may or may not know.

Lawyers are not free. Also, I would have to talk to one during the week, while I'm working!
My video card was ATI very expensive back in the day, had many problems with it. It never liked my sound card. They never really worked well together.
Off topic a bit, but I had to ask how bad is DMC in the States. It is upon us here in Canada, and may become legislation in regards to copyright in the fall. I was at a recent conference with Michael Geist speaking about this issue. He views it as the end of fair dealing of information in Canada and we will have a mirror image of the DMC Act.
I have to keep reminding myself that "back in the day" means 1995 on GeekNights.
The "real" back in the day is before IBM-PC computers started having on-board video cards.
I used to use Hercules video cards and cards made by Orchard. Back when CGA ruled the roost and EGA was the new hotness.
I think you might have been referring to that strange set of pins on the side of some VGA boards. Was it a VGA Feature Connector? I had some cards with that but never used it.

Much like you were working today on your laundry? you can do all the research you want but having a professional look at the situation is beneficial 99% even if its just to reinforce your opinion.
