Dreamcast looking for a good home

edited May 2008 in Video Games
I haven't used my Dreamcast much in recent years, and in the spirit of not keeping stuff that I'm not even using, I would like to give it to someone who would appreciate and use it.

It is in good condition, and it comes with the following hardware:
  • 2 controllers
  • 1 VMU with some totally sweet saves
  • All the wires and junk it needs to work.
It comes with the following games:
  • Soul Caliber
  • Power Stone 2
  • Cannon Spike
  • MDK2
  • Fur Fighters
  • Psychic Force 2012
  • POD: Speedzone
If multiple people are interested in the package, I will decide who gets it based on the following factors: 1) how few resources I need to expend to get the package to you, 2) how much I like you, 3) how much you express your desire for the package.

If no one expresses any desire by next weekend, it will end up in a thrift shop.

Comments

  • First off, Craigslist or eBay is a better idea than a thirft shop.

Second, thanks for reminding me about Power Stone. Power Stone Wii/DS please!
  • I'm not looking to sell it but to give it away.

If no one wants it I'll take it off your hands rather than see it end up at a thrift store.

I find that the Dreamcast was one of the better systems and that Power Stone is one of the best party fighting games ever and I have wanted a Dreamcast ever since it came out.
EDIT: I am located in Maryland, if that helps to make your decision.

I'm in the UK but if shipping isn't too much I might take you up. How much does it all weigh in a box?

  • I be happy to let it go into my classic gaming collection, I know of several places to add to it and be happy to play it on into the summer. So if in the PA, NJ, MD area, think of me please.

    :D
  • OMG, I would love a Dreamcast. I'm about to go to college in Maine and have thus far never owned a gaming system. My folks have this rule about video games, especially when it comes to systems. The only problem with me is that I'm still in my folks house for the next few months, and they would be furious if a game system arrived here. So I couldn't actually take it until like September, so I can only assume that you'll give it to someone by that time. I can always go to Chinatown or ebay and find one.

I've seen Gamecubes for £20 down the road. Pre-gen affordability [spelling error?] for the win.

How would they know what is in the box? You could just buy something that you need and tell them you bought it online, then just hide the dreamcast.
  • ^ The Dreamcast is something you shall not hide, there are so many good titles on it that you should show it off. Seriously check the latest issue of Retro Gamer, they did the top 10 games and all of which are awesome.

There are a lot of good dreamcast games. The homebrew support is great to, since you don't even need to mod it to play cd-r's on it. I use nesterDC, a nes emulator for the dreamcast and it works fine.
  • I remember seeing my peers play on a Dreamcast, I was too poor to buy one back then, my childhood sucked. XD

Well, south Florida sucks in general.
  • ^ Actually there is a good retro store down there, one of the Play and Trades has a gold mine if you ask to see their stuff.

My parents wouldn't go for that. They'd want to know what I got. I mean, they'd probably eventually give up and let me have it, but I'd rather spend money to not go through their yelling.

Dude!, donate it to my anime club! I live in the next town and it would be enjoyed by many people!

Oh, that's right! I'm leaning towards Scott's anime club now.

    Around where? .
  • The Giant Retro Map

Click the link above, enter you address on each page, focus on page 1 and 2, according to many people in S. Florida there are some really nice places to check out.
  • I'm in NE Ohio and will cover shipping. This system will be an upgrade from my N64.
  • The end. It's definitely going to Scott's anime club.
