Geeknights Friday, er Friday Night Party Line #31.

edited July 2008 in Everything Else
This one definitely highlighted the talents of Messers. Rym & Scott. Viga and I worked to keep up.

Here are the topics:

1. Which is worse: jealousy or greed?
2. Does being in control add happiness to your life? There were some
nursing home studies involving patients who were able to care for a
plant and others who could control visits from interns doing the study
that indicated that having control is essential to happiness (and well
being) So we should aspire to control and we should also give people
the power to control?
3. Now that I bought a Kindle, version 2 has been announced for the fall.
How about it? Are you going to buy one? Why or why not.
4. What are the top 5 things that every human being should do before he
or she dies?
5. (Rerun from Episode 13) If you could meet any three celebrities
alive today, who would they be? What would you say to them? How would you like to meet? Over dinner? At an event? In your living room?

    1. Carl Sagan for the sheer fact that a five minute discussion with him would be worth more than anything I could imagine. He is probably the most influential person in my life.
    2. I would love to go to a performance of Michael Hedges.
    3. I often day dream about bringing Thomas Jefferson into the present time and discovering his reactions to our world. What would he think of the internet or how the Constitution has been interpreted over the years?

Unfortunately they are all dead. :(

  • I like your show Thead even though it makes me feel dumb.

Agreed. I always want to be on the show, then I listen and always feel not smart enough to be.

    Thirded. I'd love to come on, but I'm only well-spoken about a few different subject areas. The rest, I think I would just either stay silent through due to lack of keen insights, or I'd struggle through with a lot of stuttering and end up make an ass out of myself. I need to write in order to get my thoughts out clearly about most things. XD;;

  • Interesting. But there's always a man higher up. If you want to listen to a podcast that I find challenging, try this one.
  • Episode 32 is up for those of you starved for audio while the boys are away.
  • Thanks Thead, I love your podcast to and have been subscribed for a while now. I think it would be amazing to be a guest on your podcast, but I don't think I'm old and smart enough yet...
