So I was listening to the Osamu Tezuka episode (ya I'm lazy. I just kinda take copious amounts of GeekNights episodes and listen to them from a large bank... instead of actually keeping up to date with them) and Rym and Scotts enthusiasm for F1 piqued my interest. I happen to be a very avid longboarder, but specifically do a lot of speedboarding (going as fast as you can down a road on a longboard). I thought that Rym, Scott, or anyone who is interested in the idea and concepts behind racing, might get a kick out of speedboarding. The aerodynamics and physics of downhill longboarding is quite involved and maybe some would like to learn more. If you would like to know anything about speedboarding, ask away. I also have the hope that maybe I can even find a person or two that speedboard or are into longboarding?
Here are some good videos to give you a taste of what a lot of it is about. The first is a video of the world class race course, Maryhill. The speed on Maryhill tops at about 80-85km/h.

This video is of some guys going down a road near Vernon, BC called Silverstar. The road tops at about 90 km/h, but they were apparently hitting about 85 that day.
