Nether-Genre games

What is you favorite (if you either have or like them) nether-genre game and why?

To those of you who don't know what a nether-genre game is, it's basically a type of game that separates itself from other games because of it's unusual plot, unusual characters, etc. More often than not, nether-genre games have deep plots that are confusing at first but make sense later on. They also have hidden messages that try to make a statement about people in general (usually a bold one) and about moral values. The Oddworld and Soul Reaver series are excellent examples of nether-genre games.

Knytt and Knytt Stories. They disguise themselves as platformers, but should really be appreciated based on Nifflas' simple yet elegant artwork and beautifully atmospheric electronica music.
