Polymeme

edited August 2008 in News
Billed as a "Polymath's Guide to the News".
It's an interesting, almost Anti-Digg experiment in social news. Rather than taking a bazilion votes and letting the most popular get up to the top, it monitors a small set of blogs and lets the "most important" stories float to the top. Seems like it could be good, but doesn't Google News do this already?

  • Polymeme helps you discover intelligent content that lies beyond the usual echo chambers of tech news, celebrity gossip or American politics.
The site seems to do what it says it does. It seems though you could just as easily set up Google News or Digg to filter and present the same type of content.
