What causes this?

edited August 2008 in Technology
So I went to listen to some music and the mp3s somehow got swapped with other things. It's like this: I go to listen to Every Heart but instead it's a fraction of an AWO episode or I go to hear Bomb A Head and it's 12 minutes of Geeknights. What causes mp3 file mix ups like this? Is it from moving them too much? I would have searched Google but I don't really know the term for this either.

What are you playing them on? Did you do anything to the mp3s like try to use a magic sorting program on them? Does it happen in any player, or just one player? More infos are needed.

  • It happens in all players. I just use Windows Media Player or my PSP. I never used a sorting program.

    Could be file system corruption.
  • This probably isn't how it happened to you but one time I put my psp through the baggage scanner and some of the files got renamed (first they were something then I renamed and they wnet back to the first title through the scanner.)
  • That hasn't happened to my PSP. I used to work at the airport so it went through that every day with out a prob.
