  • Just recently I got Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip's album Angles.

As of a few days ago, Scroobius is my favorite lyricist ever.
  • I have nothing against the band but the fact that they made that stupid hipster laundry list song. I don't really think the lyrics are anything special. =/

Anyway, I Wanna Be a Girl by King Khan and the Shrines.

I think people tend to misinterpret that song. He purposefully contradicted himself and said some stupid stuff throughout and ended it all by saying "thou shalt think for yourselves", which was the whole point of the song. I don't love the song, but it's not bad.

For those interested, their new album "Dear Science," comes out on the 23rd.

That's an awesome song. I've listened to some of their Dear Science tunes, and they aren't nearly as good as Cookie Mountain.

    Emily - Joanna Newsom

It's twelve minutes long and I couldn't find a video that did it justice. Ys is a damn good folk album.
  • Busdriver - Unemployed Black Astronaut

A few of his songs have come up on Pandora recently, and I love 'em.
  • JAM Project for the manly men!
  • Tokyo Police Club FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To that I say both hell and yes. Juno and Your English is Good are both awesome songs.

Their first EP, A Lesson in Crime, is far superior to any of their recent work.

  • Streetlight Manifesto - A better time, a better place

  • I went to see a friend's band two weeks ago. I rather enjoyed their show.

They're called Antennas Up and I'm glad I bought their CD.
  • Sprung Monkey :Get 'em Out of Here
  • Madredeus - O Labirinto Parado

    Portugese music is pretty awesome.
  • Old, but great:

    Nina Simone:

    Donovan:

    Renaissance:

Leonard Cohen (most of his work is better when performed by other people - great songwriter... not so great singer):
  • VNV Nation, great music.

@Cielmort: Awesome song. I'm going to have to look for more of their stuff.

Tom Waits. Think Bob Dylan but grittier both in terms of voice and lyrics.
