  • I find it odd when these descriptions match me perfectly.
Tell me about it, I get the same thing with horoscopes.
  • FYI: I'm pretty sure the "V muscles" are actually tendons. If we're all talking about the same thing.
  • >I've got weird eyes that go from gray and yellow, to green, to dark gray/blue. I do, however, rock the facial hair pretty well.
You've probably got Grey eyes like myself. They just seem to reflect whatever colour light in the room is because they lack a lot of pigmentation themselves. Some people get really confused when they look and they're blue, then another day (somewhere else) they're green.

Talking of facial hair, I just have to have something there. If I don't I feel like a 12 year old. Of course, right now I feel like a 12 year old again anyway because I got too curious with the beard trimmer and no longer have much hair 'down there'... or a beard trimmer I would feel comfortable using ever again.

They're muscles, called "obliques", running down either side of the abs. You usually only see them with very low body fat though, for guys it's about 10% body fat (girls a little higher).

We're talking about the external obliques, which are definitely muscles, but they're overlaid with tendons, which is why they look like tendons when you look at an anatomy chart or a model (or a cadaver).

  • Ah, I thought they were talking about the tendon ridge down a little lower. Yes, obliques are definitely muscles, I know that.

Shit. I stand corrected. The "v" part is the "aponeurosis" of the external oblique -- it's part of the oblique, but it's the tendon part. Damn you, WhaleShark! Though I suppose it could be ambiguous as to which part Zibbelcoot was referring to. If you can see it with pants on, it's probably the muscle. If not, the tendons. :)
  • Mr. Ryan Reynolds will help illustrate my point.

  • So, both, then. :)
  • You need a really low body fat percentage to get that V shape and... well... I really like pizza. I'm pretty built (although I need much more toning), but I have a bit of a belly. Not a huge one, but a bit. I'm a size 36 waist, which is on the larger end of the scale.

Example showing the oblique muscle transitioning into the more tendon-y oblique. You can clearly see where the muscle ends and the tendon begins.
I've looked a lot of guys obliques today... going to go look at some lesbian porn now >.<</font>

Exactly. I actually looked pretty close to that at one time, but I was hungry all the time. It's not really worth it.
  • Man, Ryan Reynolds is fucking cut. Guess that's how he got Scarlett Johansson.
  • I've said this before on the forum, but I do love to see a pair of legs. In addition, I have a thing for nancy-boys (the Down and Out type, not the emo type).
