Muse Games Office Moving Sale

edited August 2009 in Everything Else
Okay, I'm going to post here before I post on Craig's List, but anyone in and around New York City, we are moving our studio's office from Midtown to Soho, and as the new space is somewhat smaller, we are getting rid of extraneous office furniture and gadgets. (The new space has a furnished lounge and kitchen) A list of some of the things that are free or for sale super cheap:

- Grey Ikea love-seat couch
- Laser printer
- crappy wireless routers
- White Tables
- Ikea chairs
- Coffee table
- Server shelving
- Mini Fridge
- Microwave
- Various office supplies

If you want pictures, I can get them. Just post back in the forums and warn me if you want to stop by our office at 213 W 35th St. suite 806.

-Emily

Server Shelving? You mean like a server rack?

Turn into a bed? Sort of. You have to unfold the cushions.

No, It's a little different. Racks have places to mount the server units, right? This is just a shelf on which we keep printers and servers and stuff.

  • Too bad I can't just walk over there from here (Georgia) and take those nifty sounding Ikea things off your hands. :(

I'm looking for something like this.

How big is the mini fridge? Does it actually work?

So really it's just shelving. Alright, not something I'm willing to drive all the way to new york and then park for.

Oh, hot shit. I need to get one of those for my living room!

Yeah, IKEA seems to have this problem lately. All the stuff they make that I actually want is out of stock at all of their stores, and not available for purchase online. After I move, I'm going to be getting a lot of stuff from the Craigslist market because IKEA can't actually deliver most of what they put in their catalog.
  • Microwave does sound tempting... my current one is acting up on me.

    Hey, you're right. Fail. :(

Meh, so old fashioned and plain. I like all minimalist and modern stuffs.

I like modern furniture as well. Things that are plain but well designed, and very simple.

This is our sofa. It is dark gray.

Old fashioned ok, but plain? More plain than a minimalist piece of furniture? Eh, whatever.

Perhaps "generic" would be a more accurate term?

Oh man, I'd get that but it's 6 inches too long to fit in my car. :(

That's actually really nice, but it is not a bed.
  • You can unfold the cushion and put it on the floor like a mattress.
  • Just realized this sucks for you guys. You'll have to pay $80+ a month to get the unlimited metro card like I had.
  • Yup! Money Drain! But I'm excited because moving is different and fun.
    We'll see about telecommuting.
  • Damn, I really want some Ikea furniture right now. Hope your stuff sells, Emily.

Your new office should get at least one or two of these chairs in your office.

They offer style and comfort, it's a two-fer.

I found awesome ikea bookshelves through craigslist for crazy cheap. If you must have ikea, you can get it (particularly items that may no longer be in stock) from other sources.

While I love the book shelves, most of ikea's furniture is not to my taste. Not to say it is terrible by any means, just not my taste. I like a warmer, cozier feeling than a lot of their pieces offer.

  • On the topic of bookshelves, what bookshelves do you have, Scott? I always admired them and want one.
  • Maybe we should make a new thread about our random furniture musings. There may be some people who want what emily needs to get rid of.

I have IKEA IVAR shelves. It's a completely modular system, and you can mix and match it every which way. The vertical pieces I have are wood-color and the shelf pieces I have are painted black. I need more of the black shelves, but they are also perpetually out of stock. I think I might have to buy the wood colored ones and paint them, or just leave them non-matching.
  • Got a picture of the shelves? We've been looking for shelves.

You are so freakin' right about IKEA. I was looking for some new stuff, and nothing affordable was even available to order. Screw them.

And actually, the monthly metrocard is about $91 now after those happy-sparkly fare hikes.

Man I wish they sold them in the UK, It would be perfect for a little James bond reenactment. Just picture it.

James Bond, escapes from the man eating sharks and crawls to my evil HQ, At first all he sees is the back of my chair, but then...........
    "Good evening Mr Bond,"

Swivel on chair to revile me, stroking guinea pig.........

Good times........ (but it would have to be a red lining, I mean a bad guy has to think of color coding)

Nope, no guinea pig. It has to be a cat or a small dog (not a chihuahua) or else it won't work. Also don't you think that red lining trope is a bit old? How about navy blue or an unexpected color?

It's all about dark subdued colours and the right lighting so your face is thrown into just the right amount of shadow while leaning back.

@Gomidog: Good luck with the move.
