SuperUser.com

If you didn't know, there is a site called Stack Overflow. It is a place for programmers to ask and answer questions.

There is also a site called Server Fault. It is a place for system administrators to ask and answer questions.

Well, now there is a third site called Super User. It is a place for you normal users to ask and answer your normal desktop problem questions.

Between those and Google, I expect to see far fewer tech help questions of this here in this forum. Granted, such questions are not against the rules, but you will be made fun of for asking them in the wrong place. It's also for your own good, as asking on those other sites will give you a better answer more quickly than asking this relatively small community.

  • One question, could you link a URL of this Google site you keep on ranting about
  • (is totally going to flood the forums with inane tech questions in a few months)
  • The founder of Stack Overflow, Jeff Atwood runs a great programming blog called Coding Horror. He had a post there about giving your company a negative-identity, as in "we're [Company X] but without [negative quality Y]. His pitch for Stack Overflow was "we're like Experts-Exchange but without the evil."
