Addicted to Fake Achievment

  • Yet another achievements discussion. Whatever, I like achievements in L4D because they're usually humorous. I don't try for them so much as LOL when I happen to get one.
It is true that Valve and others often give humorous names to the achievements. If humor is what they are going for, however, I suggest they take a Mortal Kombat 2 approach. Have that announcer guy yell the name of the achievement, and put it right up there in big old letters.
That sounds fantastic, some one tell Valve to do that for L4D3.
  • In Sonic Adventure 2, If you perform every level and auxiliary level objective with a grade of A, the game unlocks a 3d version of the classic Sonic 1 level "Green Hill Zone".
I have a friends who is dangerously close to having all the emblems. There's just like three missions that are ridiculously difficult.
^_^ And you have one friend who HAS all emblems.

You're going to have to let me play Green Hill one of these days.

I'll bring my DC to ALA.

I recently found a site called Get Glue, and it's one of those social suggestion sites that'll recommend things based on what you have already said that you liked. I found that there were achievements which didn't bother me...except for one little thing that piqued my interest. They said that if you want to, you can have physical sticker copies of those achievements sent to your home in the mail. I decided to try it out to see what would happen. Today, I just got those stickers in the mail and they are pretty cool looking. To prove that this actually happened, here is a picture (with notes) of the real thing. Does this count as an anomaly in achievements as "electronic nothings" (I was paraphrasing btw) as Scott puts it? I feel that this fundamentally different than most achievements, what does everyone else think?

  • Almost...But I'd say if a sticker is not badass enough to get slapped on my laptop, then it's not concrete enough. And those stickers don't look badass enough.

Well, I only just signed up a week or two ago so there are probably better looking ones out there.

This problem is everywhere. I wish there was a website where I could just buy awesome stickers that pertain to anything and everything.

Sort of like an awesome, web, version of Oriental Trading?
  • edited December 2009
Oriental trading only carries paper stickers for properties I am uninterested in. I want a place I can buy stickers with the emblems of Battlestar Galactica fighter squadroms on them, replicas of Joe Strummer's "Ignore Alien Orders" sticker, and stickers espousing my love of various bands. All printed on vinyl.

    I approve of this pun.

    How is that a pun?

Vinyl stickers/vinyl records, espousing your love of various bands.

I've never heard anyone refer to stickers as just "vinyl", so I thought you were making a joke.

    Derp. Should have caught that.

Yeah, vinyl stickers just look cooler, stick to anything, and resist pretty much everything. They're magnificent.
